Justice Kudrat Akano of Osun High Court on on Tuesday, November 8th, sentenced an octogenarian, Mr Oluwafemi Fagbemi, Tobi Ojo, Famutuwa Femi and Tope Olatunji to death for murder. They were charged with a two count charge conspiracy and murder, offence contrary to sections 324 and 319 of the criminal Code Cap. 34 Volume 2 Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
Prosecuting counsel from the Ministry of Justice Mr. Abiodun Badiora told the court that the convicts on April, 13, 2012, killed one Jacob Ajayi for money ritual in IIesa town. The headless body of deceased was recovered from a septic tank, with other parts of his body, including his genitals, removed. Counsel to the convicts A.O Oluwole pleaded with the Judge to temper justice with mercy.
Justice Akano found them guilty on two-counts charge of conspiracy and murder preferred against them. She consequently sentenced the convicts to 14 years in prison for conspiracy and death by hanging for murder.
